Educational Program

 

Objectives

At the conclusion of each activity, the participants who have completed the course will:
 
  • have an increased knowledge of endosurgery to include instruments, safe access into the area of focus, and areas of application
  • develop familiarity with the relevant surgical techniques/options, decision-making in the operating room, and in care of the patient before and after surgery
  • demonstrate ability to perform specific skills and techniques in the Duke Endosurgery Vivarium Skills Laboratory, Duke Surgical Education and Activities Lab (SEAL), and the Duke Human Fresh Tissue (cadaver) Lab.
  • document course completion as required by the credentialing process at the institution(s) where the surgeon applies for endosurgical procedures
 
Please note that participation in these courses do not offer sufficient education and training to certify surgeons to perform these procedures on humans.
